AT&T Offering new U-verse Customers Choice of Kindle Fire HD, Nexus 7, Sonos Play:3 or Xbox 360

Now this is my kind of incentive to sign up for a service. I don’t want those rebates with pre-paid debit cards or none of that, give me something physical that I can actually make use of! AT&T is trying to woo new customers to their U-verse service by offering choice of free Free Kindle Fire HD, Nexus 7 Tablet, SONOS PLAY:3 Or Xbox 360. I wish Verizon did this when I signed up for FIOS!

AT&T* now offers new U-verse® High Speed Internet customers their choice of a free Wi-Fi enabled entertainment device – Kindle Fire HD, Nexus 7 Tablet, SONOS PLAY:3 or Xbox 360® – when they choose a qualifying package of U-verse services.

Customers signing up for U-verse High Speed Internet qualify for a free device when they add either U-verse TV or Voice service to the new Internet service. The free device, valued at up to $350, provides even more value to popular AT&T U-verse bundles. Customers also receive access to the AT&T Wi-Fi network at no extra charge. And those who bundle U-verse TV and Internet benefit from more flexible connectivity with a free wireless gateway. In addition to state of the art connectivity and entertainment, U-verse packages offer customers significant savings.

"Customers tell us they enjoy access to their in-home Wi-Fi network and the freedom to use more than 32,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots across the country, which is why we’re building new bundle offers around our broadband services," said Mel Coker, chief marketing officer, AT&T Home Solutions. "We know when customers bundle U-verse Internet, TV and voice services, they have higher customer satisfaction and engagement. Customers tell us that packaging the services gives them even more reasons to love U-verse."

The offer is the latest example of AT&T responding to customer feedback. In 2012, U-verse introduced new bundle offers that deliver significant savings over 24 months.** Triple- and quad-play bundle offers are popular among existing customers. About 90 percent of new U-verse TV customers also signed up for U-verse High Speed Internet in the fourth quarter. About 70 percent of AT&T U-verse TV subscribers take three or four services from AT&T.

U-verse High Speed Internet delivered a fourth-quarter net gain of 609,000 subscribers to reach a total of 7.7 million. Fifty-five percent of U-verse broadband subscribers have a plan delivering speeds up to 12 Mbps or higher.
