THE SPORTS ILLUSTRATED GROUP (www.si.com) today unveils “SI Swimsuit 2009” a new mobile app for iPhone and coming soon to the BlackBerry. The “world’s sexiest app” breaks new ground as the first mobile application in the lifestyle category to deliver video of SI’s gorgeous Swimsuit models, hundreds of SI Swimsuit photos as well as scores, schedules and team information.

The application, which retails for $2.99, is the mobile extension of SI Swimsuit – a multimedia franchise which reaches more than 66 million adults. The application features video and photos of all 20 models from the 2009 SI SWIMSUIT franchise and allows users to create their own daily sports calendar customizable to follow your favorite pro or college teams’ along with your choice of SI Swimsuit model each month. With in the lifestyle category there is tremendous anticipation for the potential of this new application, which could rank among the most popular in the mobile space. Features of the new SI Swimsuit application include:

  --  Videos from every shoot in the 2009 issue including the fan favorite
      body painting.
  --  A collection of 20 stellar high quality photos for each model,
      including cover model Bar Refaeli, Danica Patrick, Brooklyn Decker and
      Hilary Rhoda.

  --  Customizable sports calendar to keep track of schedules and scores for
      up to six of your favorite professional and/or college sports teams.

The SI SWIMSUIT application is the ultimate app for the everyday sports fan. The first time you launch the app you will be invited to customize the calendar by (1) picking your favorite models to be displayed for each month and (2) choosing as many as 6 professional and college teams to keep track of in the calendar.

SI partnered with Azuki systems to create the mobile application and after this initial launch on iPhone, the application will be available for both the Blackberry Storm and Bold in August 2009.
