New Projectors from Epson

epson

Epson just dropped a slew of projectors on the market, I’ve got three press release here about all of them and they’re ranging from $500 up to $2200. For $500 you can get the decently spec’d PowerLite S9 that features USB Plug-n-Play, SVGA resolution and 2500 Lumens brightness. They’ve also got four more in the PowerLite series that are super-slim and ultra-portable that are more aimed at professionals who need to take them on the go, pricing start under $1000 with varying resolution and luminosity.  To round things off they’ve got the new BrightLink 450Wi which is an interactive projector for businesses that features 2500 Lumens, and EXGA resolution, it’s actually a projector and pen combination.

More about the PowerLite S9

This new projector provides many advanced features to benefit classrooms and conference rooms, including:

  -- USB Plug 'n Play Instant Setup: Instantly projects images and
      presentations from a PC or Mac® computer via a USB connection,
      allowing for easier set up and eliminating the hassle of dealing with
      bulky VGA cables and toggling between computer keys
  -- Extended Lamp Life: Using Epson's exclusive E-TORL lamp technology,
      the lamp life can last up to 5,000 hours(3) in economy mode, helping
      to maximize presentation time
  -- Added Connectivity: Monitor out and audio out ports allow connectivity
      to external devices, including an external monitor to help the
      presenter stay focused during a presentation and external speakers to
      enhance the sound of presentations
  -- Closed Captioning: Built-in closed captioning decoder makes
      presentations accessible to viewers with hearing impairments with no
      added cost, and helps meet ADA section 508 compliance
  -- Convenient Control: Direct Power On and Off allows for an installed
      projector to be powered on and off with a flip of a wall switch;
      Instant On/Off® enables presenters to avoid delays when starting and
      finishing presentations and be up and running in only five seconds;
      A/V Mute Slide instantly turns off the sound and images to create a
      quick pause in the presentation, conserving lamp life and energy, and
      helping to save costs
  -- Positioning Flexibility: 1.35x digital zoom and +/- 30 degree vertical
      keystone correction for easy setup
  -- Easy Portability: Sleek, compact design and included carrying case
      offers easy portability and protection
  -- 3LCD Technology: Features the latest, 3LCD, 3-chip technology to
      deliver amazing, true-to-life color and detail for powerful
      presentations; 3LCD technology provides an energy efficient light
      engine which efficiently uses available lamp light to create stunning
      images; in contrast to 1-chip DLP technology, 3LCD requires, on
      average, 25 percent less electricity per lumen of brightness(4)

Building on the success of the existing PowerLite 1700 series projectors, both the PowerLite 1750 and 1760W offer 2600 lumens of color and white light output(2), and both the PowerLite 1770W and 1775W offer 3000 lumens of color and white light output. The PowerLite 1750 features XGA resolution, while the PowerLite 1760W, 1770W and 1775W all feature WXGA resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) for use with widescreen laptops and DVD content.

"Standing at only 1.7-inches tall and under four pounds, these new models are designed to help road warriors who need a compact projector that’s easy to use and can deliver crisp, vibrant images," said Heather Gareis, senior product manager, Epson America. "Whether they’re being used on the road or down the hall, each projector offers quick setup and connection options to meet the needs of today’s busy professionals, while also being cost-effective for the bottom line."
