Today I’ve got a quick review of what for me is a very useful product, it’s simple, it’s just an adapter to go from microUSB to standard USB so I can use various things with my phone and tablet. It’s called the Micro USB OTG adapter and it’s from Monoprice actually but I purchased it from Amazon. Read on to learn more…

The cable is just slightly less than 6.5 inches long and on one end is the male microUSB connection and the other has a female standard USB port. The cable seems well made, it’s flexible but yet slightly stiff so it doesn’t quite flop about.

I got this actually to use with my tablet and a borescope or endoscope as my Windows tablet only has a microUSB port and the endoscope is standard USB and it worked perfectly fine with it. I do have another microUSB to USB adapter but it’s the short style about 2 inches long, and it’s the stiff style but I kept losing the connection with the endoscope and other things I used. I also used it with a wireless travel mouse that uses a USB receiver and it worked fine there as well.

I also tested it with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Android phone and a USB drive and found I could access the flash drive on my phone with no issues.

Conclusion

There’s really not much to say about this product except that it works fine, seems well made and it does what it’s supposed to do.

It’s exactly what I needed and I’m very happy with it.

+Inexpensive
