I don’t about you but I never use the built-in speakers in my monitors as they’re really just not any good at all. I’ve got a nice soundcard with a 5.1 system for my computer for movies, tv, and gaming and I love it. It seems that AOC has realized that they are plenty of people like me out there and they’ve decided to to include Onkyo speakers in their latest 24 inch LCD monitor. The monitor is an IPS display at 1080P with LED backlighting and a 5ms response time. MSRP is $249 and it will be coming out soon.
The AOC i2473Pwm goes beyond the traditional Full HD IPS monitor design by including a pair of ONKYO-powered stereo 7-watt speakers in the base of the monitor. This provides higher quality audio than other monitor drivers, which are typically placed behind the screen, producing stifled, inferior sound. The AOC monitor’s built-in speakers pack enough sound to eliminate the need for additional desktop speakers, allowing you to free up more desk space for multiple monitor configurations.
