I may have to get one of these!

Previously the portable DVD player did nothing more than read DVDs and CDs. But now, a revolutionary new line of portable DVD players can save data from disks to SD cards as well almost eliminating the gap between portable DVD and netbook.

The gap between the portable DVD player and the computer became what a fraction of what it once was today with the launch of a new portable DVD player that saves files while it plays them.

Portable DVD players previously only worked as playback devices for compact discs, DVDs and, occasionally, SD cards.

While most other devices these days also have a file transfer and data storage function of some description the majority of portable DVDs on the market are still only capable of this playback function.

According to Rose Li, the PR Manager for wholesale electronics supplier, Chinavasion, this often discourages people from buying a portable DVD player.

"Laptops and netbooks are emerging now that are exactly the same price as many of the high-end portable DVD players, if not less," according to Rose Li. "Why would someone pay top dollar for something that can just play discs when they could pay a little more and get something that does a lot more?"

China Wholesale company Chinavasion realized this and launched a portable DVD player line that can rip files onto a SD card or USB drive as well as play the CDs and DVDs. This, according to Chinavasion’s Rose Li, makes the device relevant for today’s market.

According to Chinavasion’s Rose Li this helps change the perception of the portable DVD from a glorified TV into a data transfer portal that can be taken anywhere.

"If people are on the road and someone likes a picture, movie clip or song that is being played on the portable DVD the person showing it can just make them a copy of those photos right then and there," said Rose Li. "What else, besides a laptop, has that functionality?"

While some bigger brands might put a high price tag on such a function Rose Li said Chinavasion had made their line of portable DVD players with ripping functionality so affordable that anybody could buy one.

Even though these portable DVD players are on the bleeding edge of what is out there we wanted to put them in the reach of everybody.

Rose Li said with all portable DVDs going through a double QC process, coming with a 12 month warranty and in being shipped from China in up to 4 days there was no reason for people not to buy one.

"Chinavasion’s goal is to put the latest in technology from China in the hands of people everywhere."
