RadioShack Introduces Windows Phone 7 With Three New Devices

Ok, this PR says Radio Shack is no carrying three new Windows Phone 7 devices, but I thought they changed their name to ‘The Shack’ or something like that?!  Anyway, the phones they’re carrying are the Samsung Focus, the HTC HD7 and the LG Quantum, but their prices are bit higher than everyone else has them for, so I’d avoid The Shack if I was getting a Win7Phone that’s for sure.

RadioShack is adding Microsoft’s new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7, to its nationwide portfolio of leading smartphones this week. The Shack is introducing three new phones featuring Windows Phone 7:

  • Samsung Focus™ from AT&T, available now in stores or via Direct2U, boasts a brilliant 4-inch Super-AMOLED touch screen, a 5-megapixel camera and 8GB of storage for $199.99 (qualifying new or upgrading customers, with two-year contract).
  • HTC HD7 from T-Mobile, now available in stores or via Direct2U, is available for $199.99 for qualifying new customers with two-year contract or $249.99 for qualifying upgrade customers with contract. The HD7 offers blockbuster entertainment possibilities with a 4.3-inch high-resolution screen and kickstand. HD7 is built for streaming video, mobile gaming and its integrated 720p camcorder means you’re also equipped to produce home-made HD videos.
  • LG Quantum , coming soon from AT&T for $179.99 for qualifying new or upgrading customers with two-year contract. LG Quantum features a sliding screen with a horizontal QWERTY keyboard, 3.5-inch screen, 1-GHz Snapdragon processor and 16GB internal memory. LG Quantum also enables wireless multimedia sharing with other devices. See radioshack.com for updates on in-store arrival.

Remember, all mail-in or manufacturers’ rebates are instant at The Shack. And with The Shack Trade & Save Program, you can trade in your electronics no matter where you bought the device.

"Windows Phone 7 is extremely intuitive and user-friendly, allowing people to use their smartphones more efficiently and bring together the things they care about most," said Daniel Liberman, senior vice president of mobility for RadioShack.

"By introducing three devices equipped with Windows Phone 7, The Shack continues to expand our assortment, providing customers with a leading-edge selection of devices, carriers and world-class mobile operating systems. In a complex wireless landscape, we can help simplify their search for the right smartphone to match their lifestyle," said Scott Young, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for RadioShack.

Windows Phone 7 operating system offers three unique features: a "Glance & Go Experience" with all the information you need on the "Start" screen, allowing you to quickly find what you are looking for; a simple and functional design to do more in fewer steps; and "hubs" that assemble related items in one place for fast and easy access. The Xbox Live hub, for instance, offers an on-the-go gaming experience much like your Xbox 360 at home. Overall, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS has made it possible to complete tasks in less time, with fewer steps, without sacrificing fabulous style or superior service in the handset or carrier relationship.
