TP-LINK, a global provider of networking products, today announced a new Plug-N-Play fully enabled 8-port PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) gigabit desktop/rackmount switch, offering a simple and eco-friendly means to expand an existing wired network.
The TL-SG1008PE transfers electrical power along with data in a single ethernet cable, allowing users to expand their network to hard-to-power locations. Most competing 8-port PoE switches provide power to only four of the eight ports, significantly limiting usability. The TL-SG1008PE expands this limit by supplying power to any IEEE 802.3af/at compliant device across all eight available ports.
The built-in priority function protects the system in the event of a power overload and is intuitively arranged according to the number of each port, one being the highest priority and eight being the lowest.
