Are you lazy? You can’t say no, because we all are to a point. Technology has created a society of convenience, we want to be able to do things quickly and easily, no matter if it’s accessing the internet or changing the channels on our television. I remember when the first remote controls came out, yes I’m that old, they were corded, not much of a remote but they worked from a distance. Then I can remember when the first real remotes came out for televisions, they were amazing things that changed the way we watch television and promoted our laziness.
We live in a society or world our resources are at a minimum, and even though we know this, we still tend to do things like leave the lights on just because basically we’re lazy. We’ve got remotes for everything so why not lights, and no I’m not talking about the ‘clapper’, I’m talking about things that are actually useful, like what I’ve got for review today.
What I have for review today is something that could make your life a bit easier and maybe even save you a little money in the process. It’s a combo pack or two pack of electrical outlets, what’s so special about these is they are remote controlled to make ‘flipping the switch’ that much easier.
The Remote Controlled Indoor/Outdoor Combo Pack Power Switch comes in everyone’s favorite sealed plastic clamshell style package. It’s got specs and features listed, along with being transparent so you can see the product.
Inside we we find two remote controlled outlets, on for indoor use only and one that can be used either indoors or outdoors. Included with the outlets is also a remote control and a battery.
The remote control will control both outlets and the buttons are colored coded to match the outlets.
The Indoor outlet is white in color, it’s like a small block with male and female electrical connections on it.
The Outdoor outlet is black in color and has a short cord on it, it’s made to be water resistant but not waterproof, in other words it can’t be submerged in water but in can be left outside in the rain if need be. The short cord in on the outlet so it can hang down.
Both outlets are solidly built, both boxes are solid and actually heavy for how small they are. The cord on the outdoor outlet is thick and rather stiff.

This product isn’t exactly something I can show you working in action, sure I can plug something into it and take a picture or maybe even take a video of me using the remote to turn something off, but that would be kind of boring…
Anyway, here’s a couple pictures to show you scale of these:
Using these is very simple, just plug them into an outlet and then plug something into them, pretty easy overall.
The remote works fine, no complaints there, it gets the rated range, it’s wireless radio so you don’t have to have line of sight to use it, which is nice.
That’s about it really, there’s not much more to say.. it works, and it works well…
Will it make you turn off the lights when you’re not using them? Probably not, and there’s a chance of course that you’ll lose the remote like all the others that you own….
The idea of using it for outdoor lighting is nice, just click the button and the light of lights go off, in the winter you won’t have to go outside and find the plug or switch for your holiday lighting…
Oh well… if you use it it’s nice, and will possibly save you some money in the long run, and maybe even make your life a bit easier.
Conclusion:
The Remote Controlled Indoor/Outdoor Combo Power Switch is a neat little product that’s well made and it works exactly as it should.
Is it worth it? Maybe to the right person..
Pros:
+Very simple to use
+Seems well made
+Can be useful
+Remote has long distance
Cons:
-Yet another remote to lose
-Promotes laziness
-Kind of pointless really
