Let’s start with a product tour and then move on:
The Montera backpack is brown in color and it’s a canvas material, the bag is double stitched at all the main seams which is good to see for sure, I know that’s one of the things I look for in a bag. The bag has a single handle on the front and two metal rings but they don’t include a strap. You could use the rings for a strap and it would be almost like a gym bag. The bag has four straps, two on each side, with plastic clasps. These straps can can be used as compression straps but they also are used for security as they hold two flaps down over the zippers so someone can’t easily access your bag and the contents.
The bag has a large padded handle on the top and then a thinner nylon one towards the back. The thinner one is to hang the bag on a hook of course. I do like bags that come with handles on the top of them, it just makes life easier really.
On both the right and left sides of the bag you’ll find pockets that can fit water bottle or whatever you might want to put in them.
There are two pockets or compartments in this bag, yes only two. The front pocket measures about 14.5” x 9.5” and it’s about one inch thick.
The main section or compartment is actually two of them, one large space for your stuff and then a padded section for a laptop or tablet. The padded area has an elastic strap with velcro to keep it secure. The space can hold up to a 15” laptop. The whole compartment measures about 11” x 18” in size and it expands to about 6 inches thick.
On the back is two padded and adjustable straps. The straps aren’t very thick but they should be comfortable enough for daily use.
The Montera backpack is very well made and I love the looks of it, but it just doesn’t have enough pockets for me personally.
The backpack does have two large pockets to put all of your stuff in and then a separate padded compartment for your laptop or tablet which is fine, but there’s really nowhere for your phone, or pens and pencils or any smaller items that can easily get lost.
All in all the Montera is nicely made with double stitching, I think the canvas material is rugged and the bag should last a long time even with daily use.
+Very well made overall
+Large spacious pockets
+Padded laptop area
-Really no small pockets and only two large ones
