Review of Prizm 2-Piece Aluminum Stand for Tablets

Today I’ve got a quick review for you of a cool little product from a company called Hub Innovations.  I like tablets, I’ve got two of them in fact, actually three if you count the little cheapie, non-name thing I gave my kinds. Anyway, the product is called the Prizm 2-Piece Aluminum Stand and it’s for, you guessed it, tablets! Yes it’s aluminum as well, solid aluminum actually and it’s works very well and it looks great holding your tablet on your desk.

Normally we start reviews off looking at the packaging but  as sometimes happens, I got this for review before the official box was ready so I’ve got no box shots for you. Not a big deal…

The Prizm arrived to me just wrapped in styrofoam for protection.

Like the title says, the Prizm is two pieces of aluminum. They sent me the green anodized version for review, but you can get it many other colors if you don’t care for green. The full list of colors is below in the specs section. My son was here when I unpacked this and he thought it was some kind of weapon, and truthfully it sort of looks like one or two. The two pieces are solid aluminum and very strong, it will take a lot to bend them so I think under normal use they’ll be fine. The two pieces look virtually identical except for a small slit that’s in a different place on each one.

Here’s a side view showing how thin they are:

To use the stand you just put it together by sliding them into the slits of each other. Once together you can see the two ‘ledges’ at the bottom, these hold you tablet up and then it just rests on the points at the top.

Using it couldn’t be simpler really. Just put it together and set your tablet on it, that’s it.

When you first put it together it might seem loose but the weight of you tablet will solve that as it pushes down on the stand.

I used it with my Le Pan TC970 which is a 9/7” tablet that’s shape more squarely.

Then I used it with the Idolian TouchTab 10 which is more of a rectangular tablet. You can use it in portrait or landscape mode and the Prizm holds it up well.

The Prizm sets the tablet at an angle that’s great for viewing and use. I’ve got it sitting on my desk and the view is fine.

Conclusion:
The Prizm is a well thought out and designed product that works perfectly well for what it’s made for. The build quality is just excellent really, it’s solid and sturdy aluminum, and looks great. I just love the look or design of it. It will hold your tablet up at a good angle for viewing multimedia or for just general use. It’s two pieces so it can easily be taken with you or just tossed in a drawer where it won’t take up much space at all.

Price is about $25 and that’s about right I think, not overly expensive at all.
