Up for review today I’ve got another watch from Burei and this one is very different from the last one I reviewed as it has a nice classic and yet elegant styling to it with gold accents and a brown calfskin leather band. From my time with it I’ve found it’s comfortable to wear and it keep good time, there’s also a day and date display there for you as well. All in all it’s a very decent budget friendly watch. Specifications and Features
The actual gift box that contains the watch is about 4.5 x 4.5 x 3 inches in dimensions and has a leather texture to it on the outside. The box itself is very sturdy and it has a spring hinge on it, once you open the box you’ll find the watch around a soft pillow for protection. It’s a very nice presentation overall.
You’ll find a small hang tag on the watch with the Burei logo on it when you take it out of the box. The watch has a brown calfskin leather band on it that should fit most average sized men I would think. The band is a dark brown on the outside and a tan color on the inside and the inner surface of the band is soft and shouldn’t irritate the skin. The inner surface of the band has the Burei logo and it says ‘Genuine Leather’ on it as well. The buckle is gold colored and it matched the band and watch nicely and it also has the Burei logo on it. For adjustment the buckle side has an attached belt loop and one that can slide along the band for further adjustment and to keep it flat against the band while wearing it. The other part of the band has eight holes in it for proper fit which can be adjusted from about 2.5” diameter down to about 1.75” diameter, that’s just rough measurements as the band isn’t exactly a perfect circle. Measurement was taken from the buckle to the back of the watch, so the inner part of the band and watch basically or your wrist size/thickness.
The face of the watch is a striking black in color and it has no numbers on it just large and rather thick gold lines to indicate hours with tiny white lines to indicate minutes and seconds. If you look closely, with a magnifying glass, the hour markings are actually almost pentagonal in shape, they have a flat bottom and the two sides at a right angle and then the top two coming to a point. On the right side of the face is a calendar that shows day and numbered date, the weekend days are red while weekdays are black lettering. I should also note the says of the week can be displayed in English or Spanish. The day/date display is nice and large, you can easily see it at arm’s length, or at least I could. The outside or frame of the watch is a gold colored metal that matches the hour markings and I like the black and gold color combination, it goes well with the brown colored calfskin band.
The adjustment dial on the right side of the watch is a nice size to easily grab it to make adjustments. The dial has two positions, or actually three. The first is all the way in which is normal running mode, then the second position is to adjust the calendar and the third or all the way out is to adjust the time.
The back of the watch is a stainless steel and it says the watch is water resistant to 30 meters and you’ll find the Burei logo there again.
I’ve had this Burei watch for about a month and half now and I set the time when it first arrived and it’s still correct so I would have to say it keeps good time. I did have to reset the date though as it didn’t work correctly for February but that’s no surprise at all and I’m sure figuring shorter months and leap years into the mechanical gearing would make the cost go up. It is comfortable to wear, the inner surface of the band is soft and I’ve had no reaction to it, but then again I don’t think I’ve ever had a reaction to watch bands either, so it’s fine for me.
On a personal note I think the watch face is a bit too big, I like something slightly smaller for myself personally. From the end of the adjustment dial to the other side of the watch it’s 1.75 inches across, the watch face itself is about 1.625 inches or about 1 and 5/8 inches across which to me is large, or larger than I prefer.
Conclusion
I’m truly impressed by this watch, especially the packaging and presentation and while that’s all nice yes, the watch itself is very nice looking as well. The gold, black and brown color combination looks great, it offers a stylish yet elegant look, you could wear this watch daily or on a night out on the town and it would fit in just fine with a suit or t-shirt and jeans.
This is a very budget friendly watch but if you didn’t know the price you surely would think it cost much more than it actually does, it’s well worth the $35 price tag in my opinion.
The watch keeps perfect time, I set it about 1 1/2 months ago and it’s still accurate and that’s what you want from a watch surely. A watch can look great but if it can’t keep accurate time then it just become a nice looking bracelet but this watch from Burei keeps very accurate time.
All in all I like this watch a lot, personal feelings aside, this is just a great watch for yourself or it would make a great gift.

+Nice quality overall
+Excellent packaging presentation
