Up for review today I’ve got another Bluetooth speaker from AncordWorks and this one is rugged and waterproof so you can really take it anywhere you want to like the beach, camping , hiking or just to work or school. The speaker is easy to use and it has basic controls so you can control your music as you need to. Read on to learn more…
Specifications and Features
Inside of the box you’ll find the speaker, wrist strap, micro USB cable for charging and an audio cable for use with non-Bluetooth devices. One thing missing from the box is the instructions sadly. The speaker itself is kind of big, but still portable, it’s about 7 inches long, and about 3 inches deep and about 3 inches high. The speaker is well made and it’s waterproof and dustproof. The speaker is made of metal and plastic and inside it has a 5000mAh battery so it should last most of the day surely.
The bottom has four rubber feet that keep the speaker where you put it.
The rear of the speaker has a thick rubber door on it which covers a 3.5mm audio jack and the micro USB connector for charging.
The left end of the speaker is where the control panel is with buttons for +, –, forward and in the center is the power button. Since the instruction weren’t included I wasn’t sure exactly what the buttons were for. Obviously the center button is for power and the plus and minus buttons are for volume and the arrow is for forward, but they have other functions as well. The center button also has an LED in it that light up red or green or blue. To turn the speaker on you have to hold the button in for at least 3 seconds from what I found and then it lights up green. To enter pairing mode you need to hold the plus and minus buttons down together and the LED with flash blue and green.
The speaker also has voice prompts like ‘powering off’ and sometimes it says ‘power on’ but not all the time. If you hold the plus volume button down long enough it will say ‘maximum volume’.
Conclusion
So once I figured out how to use the speaker since there were no instructions, it does work well, it sounds decent overall and it has good bass in it.
The speaker seems well made, it’s durable and it’s waterproof so you can take it anywhere with you, camping, hiking, to the beach or to your office or school.
It’s not exactly small in size, but it’s small enough to fit in a bag with no issues.
All in all it’s not a bad speaker, but it might be a bit overpriced in my opinion as there’s no carrying case or anything like that and it really doesn’t have a lot of functions, at least I don’t think it does as there’s no instructions.
Pros:
+Good battery life
+Waterproof and rugged
+Decent sound
Cons:
-No instructions included
-Might be considered expensive
