Yeah, I still want a Galaxy Tab, I got one for review but sadly it had to be returned. I wonder how other sites pull it off by being able to keep stuff like the Tab?! Anyway, enough of that, Samsung has just announced a new version of the Galaxy Tab which is wi-fi only for those that don’t want or need the cell access. There’s no launch date or pricing though, just stay tuned 1Q of 2011 for more info.
Samsung Mobile announced the WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab™ will be available for purchase in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2011. The Galaxy Tab runs on Android™ 2.2 (Froyo) and features a 7-inch TFT display with 1024 x 600 WSVGA resolution, weighs only 13 ounces, is 12 millimeters thin and easily fits in a jacket pocket or purse. It includes 16GB of internal storage and has microSD expansion for up to 32 GB of additional storage and also supports Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 to deliver an enhanced content experience with access to thousands of Web sites packed with complex Flash-based applications and content.
Additionally, Samsung Mobile also announced that CBS has agreed to work with Samsung and provide content to Samsung’s Media Hub service. As part of the new agreement with CBS, Media Hub users will be able to purchase single episodes or full seasons of several of its hit drama and reality programs including next day TV programming like “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “NCIS,” “The Good Wife” and “Survivor.” Samsung’s agreement with CBS is the latest addition to the Media Hub content provider lineup including MTV Networks, NBC Universal, Paramount and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. Media Hub offers customers a robust collection of movie and next day TV show titles and Samsung will continue to announce additional content licensing agreements with Samsung Media Hub in the near future.
