If you want to get some work done, then you need to check out these new workstations from HP. Not only are there new desktops but portable workstations as well like the new EliteBook 8740W which features a 17” display with many choices of PCUs including the Core i7 Extreme Edition and up to 16 gigs of ram. Now that’s a powerful notebook! It’s got a starting price though of $1999.  There’s a few offerings for the new desktop workstations that include the new Six core Intel Xeon 5600 CPUs with prices ranging from $730 up to $1799 depending on configurations. Some are available now and some have a release date of April.

• The HP Z400 offers up to six processing cores using the latest Intel Xeon 3500 series processors, providing up to 24 GB of ECC memory, up to 8 TB of high-speed storage and up to NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 or dual NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 graphics.
