Here’s an interesting press release, Vizio is filing suit against LG… not many times you see the little companies suing the big ones, usually it’s the other way around. You have to wonder why a big company like LG would infringe on the patents of a smaller company… Guess the competition got too much for them…

IRVINE, Calif., June 5 /PRNewswire/ — VIZIO, America’s #1 HDTV and Consumer Electronics Company, announced today that it has filed an infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland against LG Electronics, Inc., a Korean maker and seller of digital televisions, related components and other products, and its wholly-owned subsidiary LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc.

In the suit, VIZIO, a U.S. company based in Irvine, California, alleges that LG infringes numerous VIZIO patents in its manufacturing, importation and distribution of certain products including high definition televisions.

VIZIO is seeking an injunction prohibiting LG from importing and selling infringing high definition televisions and is also seeking award of damages for past infringing sales.
