With the popularity of the Apple iPod comes an assortment of accessories of all shapes, sizes, colors and uses. Cases are probably one of the most popular of accessories and the most useful as they protect your investment.
Today I’ve got a short review for you, it’s a case for the Apple 4th Generation iPod nano, and it’s from a company called Proporta. Well it’s not really a case, more of a pouch that protects your iPod. There’s not much at all to this case, it’s simplistic in it’s design, but yet it offers a lot of protection, and it’s inexpensive as well.
The packaging for the Mini Maya Pouch is very basic, but yet nicely done. It’s just a cardboard folder with the case inside.
The case itself is available in a variety of colors so there’s sure to be one to fit your tastes. The one I received for review is white with blue and black accent stripes. It’s all leather and it’s fairly thick, the back does have a small metal loop to attach a lanyard, keychain or whatever.
The Mini Maya Pouch is also padded inside with a soft fuzzy cottony material to further protect your iPod.

The first thing that struck me about this case is that it’s rather feminine, you won’t catch me actually using this case out in public, but I did test it of course around the house for a couple days.
It fits the iPod very tightly, in fact it can be rather difficult getting your iPod into it the first couple times until the leather starts to give or relax a bit. This is a good thing though as it keeps your iPod secure inside, you won’t have to worry about it falling out. You can insert you iPod into the case either way, but of course if your going to use the iPod while it’s in the case you’ll want to install it upside down with the audio connector facing up.
There are many types of cases out there today, and this is just one style, some might complain there is no way to control the iPod with this case, but many people just turn it on and let it play. With the ipod nano it does have the shake shuffle feature so you can just shake it as well to change songs if you wish, I don’t see a real problem with not being able to access the controls. As I mentioned, there are many types of cases out there and this is just an option that offers good protection for your iPod.
Conclusion:
The Proporta Mini Maya case is well made and it offers a lot of protection for your iPod.
Yes it’s a rather feminine case, but it could make a great gift for that special girl in your life to go with that new iPod you bought her for Christmas.
Pros:
Well made
Tight fit to hold iPod in place
Inexpensive
Cons:
None really
