For today’s review we’re back in the kitchen with something I’ve always wanted to try. For whatever reason I use towels as pot holders, I guess it’s because that’s what we always used in the restaurant kitchens I’ve worked in. I do have regular pot holders but don’t use them, but a heat resistant glove is something different. The glove is from a company called Aprince and it’s a combination of silicone and Kevlar to protect you from the heat and I have to say it works. Specifications and Features
The glove is black and red in color and it’s made of what they call and Aramid fabric which is flame retardant and heat resistant. You can use these as you would a pot holder for things on the stove or in the oven but you can also use them for grilling.
The glove has non-slip silicone bumps over the top and bottom part where your hand would be, up the rest of the way from the wrist is just a thick fabric.
The end or cuff section does have a cloth loop so you can hang the glove up when not in use.
The inside of the glove is a very soft material making it comfortable to wear.
The glove fit me just fine and it comes up my arm about half way to my elbow. I like the fact that it comes up this far as this way you can reach your arm in the oven and not worry about getting burned. I can’t count how many times I’ve reached into the over and my arm has touched the oven rack and I’ve burned myself, this glove prevents that.
For testing I grabbed hot stuff from my oven and I didn’t get burned, which is a good thing. I found I could hold onto things for a long time without feeling any heat, you can feel the heat slightly yes but it’s not uncomfortable at all.
Conclusion
The Aprince cooking glove is one of those things that has a earned a place in my kitchen for sure as it works great.
The glove is comfortable to wear, it’s soft inside and the outside is non-slip making it safe to use and you won’t have to worry about dropping things.
The glove is also machine washable so if you get food on it you can just toss it in the washing machine and you’re set.
All in all this is a great product in my opinion, I like it a lot, it works as advertised.
