The Review
Let’s start with a video unboxing and mini review and then move on:
The case comes in a clear plastic box and it’s available in many different colors, I got what they call Gray/Camel which the outer covering is a gray canvas color.
It’s a diary style case with a magnetic latch on the front. It’s made of canvas and synthetic leather on the outside and it feels well made really.
When you open the case the left side has three credit card or id slots and under those is a larger pocket where you can put money or receipts etc. The right side is where you’ll put the phone and it’s made of a TPU or silicone rubber. The top two slots are nice and wide but the third one is very tight, I really couldn’t fit my card in it, it would only go in about half way.
The phone fits well the case, you basically just push it in. The case allows access to all ports and buttons and the cut out on the back is nice and large as not to interfere with the camera. The case does offer decent protection for the phone inside and it holds it well.
The diary can act like a stand, the case inside is only partly attached and the back cover folds to make the phone stand up in landscape mode.
One small issue here is that I really haven’t even used the case, about a week or so everyday and on the back is very noticeable and rather ugly crease where the case folds to make the stand. I can only assume that as time goes by the crease will get even more noticeable and more ugly as that’s what’s happening already.
Conclusion
The Goospery Diary case is a decent case to help protect your phone and allow you to travel light.
The case does offer good protection for your phone and access to all ports and buttons.
The case isn’t perfect though, there is a not so great looking crease on the back that seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I don’t think the crease does anything to stop the case from protecting your phone, but it just doesn’t look good at all. The crease isn’t that noticeable but it’s become more noticeable as time passes and I’m afraid it’s only going to get worse.
+Well made case
+Decent protection
+Can just carry phone, id and cards in one case
Cons:
-Unsightly crease on back of case
-Money needs to be folded to fit
