Up for review today I’ve got another flashlight but this one is different it features a red Cree LED so that you don’t spook the animals. The light is from a company called iBlueEagle and I have to say I’m impressed by the quality of it, it’s very well made and it’s bright. The light uses a regular 18650 battery for power and it’s rated for 350 lumens of brightness, but it seems brighter than that to me. Read on to learn more…
Specifications and Features
When I first took the flashlight out of the box and unwrapped I was surprised by just how heavy it was without the battery even being in it. I have to say it feels solidly made overall and a quality piece. I’ve got a lot a flashlights and I’m impressed by the quality of this one. The flashlight is about seven inches long and the head is 1.75 inches across, but the tail end is only just a little more than one inch across. The light is made of aluminum and it’s supposedly water resistant and waterproof to a point. The light does include a lanyard but that’s it, no case or anything like that.
The front ring on the light screws off and inside you’ll find a glass lens, rubber o-ring and a large shiny metal reflector. Down inside you’ll find the red Cree LED.
The tail end is where you’ll find the power button which is covered with rubber and it clicks audibly when pushed. This flashlight only has on and off modes, nothing fancy but it works. The tail end screws off to reveal the battery compartment and you’ll also find a rubber o-ring inside to keep water out.
The light is rated for 350 lumens but it really seems brighter than that. I’ve got wood behind my house and there are plenty of wild animals back there to see all the time especially in the dark. I take my regular flashlight with me when I take my dogs out and the white light usually scares them away, the red light shouldn’t do that and from what I noticed it didn’t.
Conclusion
The iBlueEagle HS-802 red LED flashlight is very nice and I’m truly impressed by the quality of it, it seems very rugged and durable.
This light would be great for numerous uses like camping, hiking and hunting for sure. The red LED is made to not spook any animals that you may be looking for and from my testing it seems to work.
All in all I like this light a lot, it’s just a great product really.
