Review of Paryvara Infrared Medical Thermometer

para4
I’ve got a review today for the home and health category and it’s another infrared thermometer but this one is different than the last one I reviewed in that it can be used in the inner ear for a more accurate temperature result. The Paryvara thermometer is well made and it’s accurate and best of all it’s fast, it gives fast results within just a second or two of pushing the button. Read on to learn more…

Specifications and Features

Once you get everything unpacked you’ll find the user guide, cloth storage pouch, holder and of course the thermometer.

The thermometer itself is attractive looking with two buttons and and LCD in the middle between them. The buttons are labeled F1 and F2, F1 is for forehead readings and then F2 is for inner ear temperature readings. I like having the two separate buttons as you don’t have to switch modes or anything, just push the button. The thermometer is ergonomically shaped and hits comfortably in your hand and it feel nicely made. The display is backlit so you can see it in the dark easily.

On the bottom is the battery compartment, batteries come pre-installed for you and you need to pull the plastic tab to activate them before use.

para7

On the end of the thermometer is a clear blue colored covering which comes of so you can measure inside of the ear for a more accurate temperature and it also helps to keep it clean.

No one is sick thankfully in my house so I just had to measure myself and compare it to another thermometer I have. I got basically the same result, the Paryvara read 97.7F for the forehead while the Easy@Home thermometer I have read at 97.9F.  They weren’t positioned in the exact same spot on my head, as I actually held both at the same time and pressed the buttons. I ran the test again and tried to measure the exact same spot on my head for both and the readings were the same when I did that, .2F off from each other. .2F is close enough for an accurate reading in my opinion, it’s more than close enough to tell you if you have a high fever or not and whether something is wrong.

Conclusion

The Paryvara IR thermometer is a good choice I think as it seems more than accurate enough to let you know if there’s something wrong.

The thermometer gives very fast results, you press the button and within a second or two it beeps and you have the results. This is great for kids as they have no patience especially when they’re sick they don’t want something stuck in their ear so the faster the better.

The thermometer is very well made and the battery should supposedly last for over 3000 readings.

The cover easily comes off to take the inner ear reading and it’s easy to clean.

The included carrying pouch is nice as is the stand or holder.

All in all I like this thermometer, it’s small and portable and well made and seems to give accurate results. I have three children and I would trust this thermometer to check their temperatures.

Pros:
+Fast results
+Forehead or inner ear
+Includes carrying pouch and holder
+Well made
+Accurate

Cons:
-None really
