So I charged the boomCAN, I really didn’t time it as I just plugged it in when I was working at my desk, but it didn’t seem to take long at all. That could be because there was a partial charge on it from the factory. To charge the boomCAN you just connect it to your computers USB port, simple and nothing to it.

I used the boomCAN with my Zune HD, iPod Touch 4th Gen, Samsung Captivate, and even my Android tablet. I found I easily got the rated seven hours of battery life out of it as well.

When I first turned the boomCAN on I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality from such a little speaker, and a single one at that. Yes it’s not exactly stereo sound, but it still sounds very good. The sound is crisp and clear. The boomCAN can also get very loud, but at the max volumes it does get a bit distorted but that happens with most any device of this type.

boom10

I’m impressed with such big sound from a little package honestly.

Conclusion:
The Scosche boomCan is a great little portable speaker, it’s well designed and it really works. The battery life is excellent, and the sound is decent overall. The included carrying pouch comes in handy to not only protect it but to make sure you don’t lose the included cable.

The sounds can get slightly distorted when at higher levels, but that’s to be expected really, it’s like that with most any speaker.

I would have also liked to have seen a separate audio cable, instead of the combination one that comes with the boomCAN. I can understand having the combination cable, but one can wish right?
