Today for review I’ve got another in the lighting category, but it’s not a flashlight, but it is LED based. The product is called the LT-T Crystal Ball Light Projector and the brand name is Sharp Eagle, but it’s from a company called Everbuying. The light is small and inside you’ll find red, green and blue LEDs and a motor that rotates the LEDs to create a colorful presentation. Included is a remote that let’s you control the colors and patterns of the lights and you can even mount it to the wall or ceiling. The light is great for parties, or even as a night light. Specifications and Features
Once you get everything unpacked you’ll find the light, mounting hardware and remote control.
The mounting bracket is plastic and it includes two thumbscrews and on the bottom center is a hole so you can mount it on the wall or ceiling if you want to.
The remote is small about the size of a credit card with eighteen buttons on it. The top colored set is for the different modes of the light and to turn it on and off. The bottom set of buttons looks like media player buttons but I’m not sure as no instructions were included with it so I’m not sure what they do or how to use them. I figured out the top buttons myself and the top row is, from left to right, power, flashing on and off and RGB mode. The second row is auto where it cycles through the colors and modes, then music/1 and music/2 which are for the audio modes where the lights react to sounds, but I’m not sure exactly what they do really. The third row is colored and labeled R,G,B for red, green and blue which can turn just those colored LEDs on and off. The last row is RG, RB, and GB for red/green, red/blue and green/blue LED on and off at the same time.
The light is 10 x 8.5 x 6 cm or 3.93 x 3.34 x 2.36 inches in size and it’s very lightweight. It’s made of plastic and the top half is a clear faceted dome so the LED lights will refract and create patterns on the floor or walls and ceiling. It’s very lightweight and made of plastic but it feels nicely made overall.
The bottom is plain and just has feet on it to stabilize it.
The mount just attaches to the sides with the thumbscrews, easy to do. It can act as a stand and you can set it up at an angle, you can tighten the thumbscrews to keep the light in the position you want it at. If you mount it on the ceiling or wall, you can do the same thing with the thumbscrews here and adjust the light and keep it stable and in place.
The LEDs are very bright if you look right into them, blindingly bright honestly . Inside of the dome is the motorized LED lights that spin and move in a not quite circular pattern, more of a crisscross or oval pattern. The motor is virtually silent, you really can’t hear it unless you listen closely, it’s just a faint hum really.
You can use the remote to create colorful patterns on the walls and ceiling. The remote is infrared and you really have to point it at the crystal dome to get it to activate but it works well overall. The only complaint I could have is that the power button on the remote doesn’t actually turn the unit off, it only turns the LED lights off and the motors still run, to turn it off you have to unplug it.
I got this more for my ten year old son as he likes things like this, he had another bigger one but the motor died in it so it didn’t turn anymore. This one is much smaller and much brighter and many other options and it’s less expensive.
Conclusion
The Sharp Eagle crystal ball LED light is an interesting product in that it’s fun and rather cool. It can be used for parties or just as a mood light.
The remote works fine to adjust the colors instantly and I like the fact that it can be mounted on the wall or ceiling or just set it on a table.
The only real complaint I could have is the fact that there are no instructions included at all. I figured out most of it myself, but still not sure what some of the other buttons are for on the remote.
My 10 year old son loves this light, he uses it as a night light actually, he thinks it’s the greatest and he was so excited when I showed it to him.
It’s inexpensive and it’s a fun product really.
