Cricket Wireless Connects Families This Holiday Season With Free Phone Calls

If you’re in the Chicago area then you’ll be able to make free phone calls thanks to Cricket over the holidays.

Each day, Cricket will provide activated wireless handsets, laptops with wireless Internet, and holiday refreshments to different organizations across the market. Community residents are encouraged to stop in and place a phone call to any friend or family member they wish to reconnect with during this holiday season. The events are open to the public and no purchase is necessary.

"Cricket believes that everyone deserves a bit of holiday cheer during this season," said Al King, Area Vice President for Cricket Midwest. "Offering free phone calls to loved ones allows us to help connect families at a time when you think about them the most and wish you were there in person."

As another way to give back to the community, Cricket team members will be on hand to volunteer with the organizations by helping with food drives, serving dinner in soup kitchens and other community-oriented activities.

"We are delighted to host this event in partnership with Cricket Communications.  The NLEI community of stakeholders, including students, job seeking clients and business partners, are excited and grateful for the opportunity to participate in this innovative initiative," said Elba Aranda-Suh, Executive Director of the National Latino Education Institute.
