Woah… now that’s a big display!
Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, the number one worldwide brand of LCD display products, today announced the release of the Samsung Ultra-Definition Display (UD) System, an interactive, video wall solution. Samsung UD is currently available from Samsung dealers throughout the United States and around the world. The system is integrated into Samsung’s UX and UT Series displays with the product cost based on application.
“As the North American leader of Large Format Professional Displays , we are expanding our product selection to include this innovative new video wall solution that provides the ability to display and manage real-time content from multiple sources, stimulating more collaboration and providing enhanced command and control capabilities,” said Mr. J.H. Kim, President, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America Inc. “ Our UD System effectively addresses the requirements of vital applications in government and law enforcement agencies that need to make critical decisions based on comprehensive, accurate information from multiple sources.”
With its ability to display information that originates from up to 125 networked PCs, the UD system creates a visualization venue from a video wall of Samsung UD Series monitors. Through conversational control and administration, information can be shared over the network and presented from remote locations. Video streams sent from webcams, security cameras and video files can also be displayed directly on the video wall.
Samsung UD provides an optimal viewing experience, maximizing image quality through its ability to reposition and resize images up to 1GB or larger in real time. The Ultra High Resolution Contents Display incorporates Giga Pixel image support, which eliminates resolution degradation. Giga Pixel capability enables users to hone in on static imagery such as satellite photos or high definition images and project them on the video wall. Samsung UD can zoom in on an image by 0.1 to 10 times. Video files and movies can be played virtually seamlessly and without distortion, when used with the ultra-thin bezel UT Series.
Samsung UD enables one control server to manage up to 250 video displays, creating a virtual monitor, which can display a wide variety of mixed content in real-time. Samsung’s exclusive patented Interlocking Display Solution, Samsung ID, allows system integrators to easily align and build video walls with perfect matching bezels in three directions. The Intuitive User Interface gives the user flexibility to control the content on site or remotely with a click of a mouse.
The UD system provides a value display solution for multiple markets that require large scale video display formats. While popular at exhibits and trade shows, video walls can be installed in conference rooms, operation centers, and auditoriums. While monitoring weather, transportation systems, manufacturing operations, military campaigns or trading floors, Samsung UD enables operations centers to analyze data in real-time and isolate individual content sources for close up viewing.
“When you look at large operation centers or professional conference facilities, the video walls are enormous and process large amounts of data. Samsung UD can handle all the live feeds and data to help make mission critical decisions or facilitate discussion,” said Kevin Schroll, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America Inc. “We recognize our customers may have varying needs and the Samsung UD is the perfect solution whether you use 10 or 250 displays at one time.”
