The Review
Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:
The packaging is plain but nice looking and inside of the box you’ll find the thermometer wrapped in bubble wrap for protection and a user guide.
On the front or top is a small LCD display and three buttons for hold, power and to change the degree units.
On the bottom you’ll find a large round magnet and the battery cover.
The probe extends out by rotating it from the inside. There is a small button on the inside of the case that is basically the power button so when the thermometer or probe is closed it powers off and it won’t turn on unless you open the probe.
One of the nice features of the Kuuk thermometer is that you can instantly change the degree units just by pushing the button.
I used the Kuuk thermometer for various things, I checked some boiling pasta water and it’s about 1-2 degrees difference from my other thermometers. This is the be expected as it’s hard to get the probe in the exact same spot for each measurement. The Kuuk does seem to be accurate though.
I was also making some cheese sauce so I tested that as well, and came up with the same result, about on to two degrees difference between the thermometers.
I was also making breaded chicken and I tested the temp on that too while it was cooking in the oil and in the oven.
Conclusion
From my testing the Kuuk thermometer isn’t a bad choice overall, it’s nicely made and I like the looks of it really, I like the bright orange color.
The buttons are raised and you can feel them without looking and the casing is anti-bacterial and it does have an automatic power off to save the battery.
I did run across a problem though which could have been pretty bad for me. While I was using it the first time, the round magnet on the back just fell off and almost landed in my sauce, that wouldn’t have been a good thing. The magnet was a nice thing to have but apparently it just wasn’t attached very well at all.
+Nice design
+Simple to use
+Seems accurate
Cons:
-Magnet fell off during first use
