The Review

Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:

The packaging is fairly nice looking with pictures on it of the product and then inside you’ll find the charger wrapped in plastic and the power adapter wrapped in bubble wrap for protection.

 

 

The Arc charger includes a USB AC adapter like you would find with your tablet or phone and then a standard micro USB cable to power the charger. The cord is 34 inches from tip to tip which might seem long but it really isn’t in my opinion.

 

 

The stand is made of plastic, it’s black, gray and clear in color and overall it makes for a nice presentation. The bottom does have an anti-slip foam pad to keep the charger in place. The charger is about 5 inches high, 6.5 inches long from front to back and about 4.5 inches wide at the widest part of the base towards the front.

 

 

The charger brackets are clear and inside of the them you’ll see the micro USB connector that mates with your Xbox One controller. The bracket help to hold the controller in place so the weight of the controller is not just on the USB connection itself.

 

On the back of the charger is the micro USB port to connect the power cord. On the side you’ll find two regular USB ports and LEDs so you can charge two more controllers, they don’t include cables but you should have them if you bought the Xbox One play and charge kits.

 

 

There are LEDs slightly above the micro USB connectors that light up green for power and to let you know the controller is charged and when the controller is charging they light up red. The LED light transfers into the clear brackets actually so they light up, it looks good in the dark for sure.

 

Charging time seems fine, it’s just as fast as using the charge and play kit or basically over USB, no complaints there and it eliminates having USB cables strewn about the place.

Conclusion

The Arc Charger overall isn’t bad, it looks nice and it works well.

The power cord seems a bit short to me at only 34 inches, but I guess it just depends on how your gaming system are setup and where the outlet is in relation to them. My PS3 and other Xbox One charger both have much longer power cords that allow me to place the chargers on the other side of my entertainment center fairly far away from the outlet.

As far as the price, I think this is a bit expensive for just a charger. I purchased the Energizer Xbox One controller charger for only two dollars more than this charger and it came with two batteries, this one comes with no batteries at all.
