I like outdoor type products, there are just so many of them really, and a lot of them have multiple uses. Knives fall under outdoor products and that’s what I have for review today, but this knife is different. The knife is from a company called SnR Star and it’s a credit card sized knife that lies flat but folds into a handle with blade when you need to use it. The knife is plastic but it’s reinforced with metal making it more sturdy which is a good thing. Read on to learn more…
Specifications and Features
The knife itself, when not in use, is unfolded and flat, about the thickness of a couple credit cards really. The blade is locked in place with a round lock that your twist to release the blade. The frame is plastic yes but it’s reinforced with a thin layer of metal to make it sturdier.
To use the knife you unlock the blade and flip the blade up, then fold the two halves backwards until they lock into place on the back and hold the blade in place. The smaller section has five pins in it, the larger sections has five holes in it that corresponds to the pins, these clip together to lock the knife blade in place and form the handle.
Conclusion
The SnR Star folding credit card knife isn’t a bad product overall, it’s small and portable and can be useful.
I would toss it in my glove compartment or even tool box just case I need a knife.
The knife isn’t what I would call the best quality, but it’s not like it’s something that you’re going to be using all the time. I would consider it a type of emergency knife honestly.
The knife is easy to use and the blade does have an edge on it, but it could be sharper really.
The stickers on the sheath are annoying, just a bit too many of them and they leave a very sticky residue on the sheath that can be difficult to get off.
Pros:
+Very small and portable
+Multiple uses
+Plastic reinforced with metal
Cons:
-Labels on cover, very sticky residue left behind
-Not exactly sturdy
