BitFenix has just announced a new PC case called the Shadow which will be officially available come October. The case is is rather plain I think, but I like plain, I don’t care for flashy anymore. What counts is what’s inside and in the case you’ll find plenty of features like room for large video cards, tall CPU coolers and they even included two 120mm Spectre fans for cooling with room for two more if you so desire the extra cooling. I don’t see a price listed but the PR does mention that it’s a value case so it shouldn’t cost too much I would think. I’ve got several pictures of the case for you along with the PR of course..
Today, acclaimed PC hardware designer BitFenix is proud to reveal the latest chassis in its award-winning lineup – Shadow. Featuring a clean, modern design and a multitude of DIY-friendly features, Shadow represents a trifecta of style, functionality, and value.
With a completely uncluttered façade and monolithic design, Shadow fits perfectly in virtually any environment. The magnetic door, which deftly hides away optical drives, is covered with signature BitFenix SofTouch™ Surface Treatment for added stain resistance and a premium matte finish. This smooth surface is complimented by a brushed aluminum BitFenix logo, along with a customizable LED accent. Located at the bottom of the front door, this LED accent can be changed to red or blue to match your build, or turned off with the press of a button on the I/O panel.
On the inside, Shadow shows it’s more than just a pretty face. This ATX design fits long graphics cards up to 320mm in length, and tall CPU coolers up to 165mm in height, ensuring full compatibility with today’s high-octane hardware. Shadow comes with plenty of storage capacity, equipped with three 5.25" drive bays and no less than seven 3.5" bays – perfect for users with massive media collections. To speed the installation process along, each of these bays come with tool-free drive locking, and single 2.5" drive mount means Shadow users can enjoy lightning-fast boot times by installing an SSD.
To keep things running cool, Shadow offers four 120mm fan locations, including two in the front, one on the bottom and one in the rear, and two premium 120mm Spectre™ fans are pre-installed for superb out-of-the-box cooling. Not only that, but all fan intakes, including the front, bottom, and PSU area come with removable dust filters to help keep your system dust-free.
Along with two USB 2.0 ports, two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports have also been included for fast file transfers and accelerated mobile device charging. A large CPU cutout ensures quick swapping of CPU coolers, while cable management features and black ribbon cabling helps facilitate a clean and tidy build. With features like these and superb styling to match, Shadow makes a tremendous base for any modern PC.
