Samsung has been really busy lately with plenty of phone launches haven’t they? Today they’ve just announced a new phone on the Cricket network. I tried Cricket several years ago, and wasn’t very happy with it, but from what I’ve hard thing shave improved greatly since then. From what I’ve been seeing both the phone selection and the service are much better now. The new Samsung Messager Touch is available now for $159.99 in either black or white. It offers a 2.6” QVGA touch screen along with slide out qwerty keyboard, 2mp camera and microSD slot for expansion. Plans start at $35 for unlimited talk and text, which isn’t too bad.
This latest addition follows two previous Samsung Messager devices launched by the value-driven wireless carrier. “Both the Samsung Messager and Samsung Messager II have been incredibly popular additions to our device offerings over the years, and we expect that this new touch screen version will be no different,” stated Al Moschner, Cricket’s chief operating officer. “The Samsung Messager devices allow our customers to take advantage of the unlimited multimedia messaging offered in our all-inclusive service plans, in a modern and stylish package.”
Easy access to pre-loaded widgets, intuitive navigation through the Samsung Touchwiz Lite interface and MyHomeScreen customizing features allowing users the ability to place links of their favorite apps, web pages, or live web info; like horoscopes, news and weather, on any of their 3 homescreens. A full variety of multimedia options are also available on this light-weight device, including real web browsing at 3G speeds, Bluetooth and 100 MB of storage for image, video and music files, which will compliment the unlimited picture and video messaging options available with the Cricket all-inclusive $45 service plan.
