The Review

Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:

The Aosky tool kit ships in a padded envelope inside of another padded envelope, at least that’s how it got to me, it was packaged well and protected.

The tool kit comes in a sturdy yellow and black box with a clear lid that locks securely shut with a latch on the front.

The back of the box has a label that lists all the bit sizes along with a retractable hanger so you can hang the whole box up out of the way if you want. All in all the box feels very sturdy and durable.

aosky5 aosky6

The black section of the box is where you’ll find the large assortment of bits and sockets along with screwdriver handles and extensions, everything is neatly and securely arranged in the tray.

aosky7

This kit comes with two sizes of screwdriver handles, one large and one small. The tray has a spot for both and a peg that comes up through the holes in the handles to hold them very securely in place in the tray.

The large handle has a copper colored bit holder attached to it, it is magnetic with the magnet inside so it holds the bits firmly in place. The holder is attached to a shaft that can be extended and locked into place through the use of the spring loaded collar located at the base of the handle. The entire shaft can be removed and replaced with a small pry bar that can also be used as a nail puller. The handle is rubberized for grip and it’s solidly made. I really like the fact that the length of the shaft can be adjusted, it’s very handy for sure.

The smaller screwdriver handle has a twist lock collet or chuck at the end and the kit comes with an extension to be used with it as well, this is also magnetized to hold the bits firmly in place. The chuck is also magnetized to hold the bits in place. The handle can be used with or without the extension of course.

Across the top of the case is a set of sockets to be used with the larger handle, there are nine of them ranging from 5mm up to 13mm in 1mm increments. The other bits include torx, security torx, hex, philips and flat blades tips along with the socket attachment tip.

The yellow bit holders can be removed if need be and they can just be placed back in the case and they do hold the bits well and stay in the case firmly. The smaller handle has a lot more bits and sockets to choose from then the larger one, but that’s expected as this kit is primarily for electronics or small things. There are seven sockets that fit the small handle ranging from 2.5mm up to 5.5mm in .5mm increments. There are numerous bit types and sizes for the small handle including security or tamper proof torx bits with the hole in the center, regular style torx bits, along with philips and flat blade tips and several hex sizes to pick from.

Normally this kit is sold as something for electronics repair etc, but it can be used for most anything that requires the sizes included of course. When I got this for review it just so happened that I had to change the motor in my clothes dryer, not an easy task at all but made easier with this kit for sure. The dryer motor is located at the bottom of the dryer in the back which means you have to basically disassemble the entire dryer to replace the motor, it takes a bit of time and patience and you’ll find you need sockets and screwdrivers along with pliers, a wrench and possibly a few other tools. The point is that I used this kit for the task and it worked great, it had the sizes I needed and I was very much surprised that the bits and sockets held up well. Many times on this less expensive kits the sockets can easily strip and the bits easily break but these all came out fine even after applying quite a bit of force to stuck screws and nuts.

Conclusion

I put the Aosky Screwdriver set through real world uses and it came out just fine, I’m honestly impressed with the quality of the parts included in the box.

You’ll find a large assortment of useful bits in this kit, even ones that you might not expect to find in a kit like this like the security torx bits. It’s not just screwdriver bits that you’ll find in this kit either, there is a nice assortment of sockets as well ranging from 2.5mm up to 13mm, a size for most any use for sure.

The carrying case is sturdy and durable and locks securely, it holds everything in place well even while transporting it around.

The screwdriver handles are solidly made and they’re comfortable to use and I very much like the fact that that large of the two can be extended allowing it to have lots of uses and get into places, you won’t need several sized screwdrivers with just this one.

I should mention the price, right now it’s only $19.99 on Amazon and for that it’s well worth it in my opinion.

All in all I like the Aosky set very much, I’m truly impressed by it, it has most every bit and size for most any general needs around the house or for repairing electronics. This kit has earned a permanent spot right near my desk so I’ll always have it handy to be used as needed.

Pros:
+Sturdy storage box
+Large assortment of bits
