Conclusion
Let’s face it laser pointers are fun to play with especially if you own a cat. Of course they are also used in other settings such as giving presentations or pointing to distant or hard to reach objects.
In the past if you needed a laser you had to carry around a pen shaped pointer. Now with the iPin you have a tiny device that inserts into your iPhone’s headphones jack while providing a full powered laser pointer. When not in use it rests innocuously off your headphone cable.
The free iOS app adds additional functionality as you can remotely control your PC or Mac as long as your iPhone is on the same network.
While it does drain your iPhone’s battery faster when in use, it does not significantly impact the battery life. If you are someone who frequently gives presentations then the iPin is a great device to add to your iPhone accessory collection.
Pros:
+Smallest laser pointer
+Bright laser
+Easily stored
+iOS app functions as a wireless trackpad
+Low profile
+iOS app can control Powerpoint & Keynote presentations
Cons:
-Can be easily lost
-Decreases iPhone’s battery life
-Have to use iPhone 5/5S upside down with it
