Review of MEIGO 6.6ft USB 3.0 USB Type C Cable

meigo1
I’ve got a quick review for you today of something that is needed if you’ve got a newer phone like I do, the Samsung Galaxy S8. I’ve got plenty of micro USB cables but since I got the S8 I’ve found that I don’t have enough USB C cables as it only came with one. The product for review today is a 6.6 foot USB C cable from Meigo and I have to say it’s heavy duty as it’s rated at over 50,000+ cable bends. The cable is USB 3.0 so it’s fast for transferring and they even include a USB C to micro USB adapter for you. Read on to learn more…

Specifications and Features

The Meigo cable is 6.6 feet long which should be more than long enough for most uses I would think. The cable is rather thick making it a bit stiff and it’s made of braided nylon making it durable surely.

They include a USB C to micro USB adapter for you so you can use the cable with other devices which I think is nice to have and it’s handy for sure.

The connectors are both aluminum covered and solidly made. The cable is USB 3.0 enabled and the connector is blue with the SS marking on it.

The cable has a leather snap style wire tie on it in-line so you can keep things tidy when not in use.

I used the cable with my Samsung Galaxy S8 and I’m pleased to report that it fits with the Otterbox Commuter case still on. The connector is thin so it fits easily into the case opening with room to spare. I didn’t really notice much of a difference in charging time but there’s a huge difference in transfer time over USB 2.0 USB C cables, much faster really.

Conclusion

The Meigo cable is well made that’s for sure, it’s rated for over 50,000+ bends which I would think would last longer than your phone or other devices.

The price is about $9 right now on Amazon and I think it’s worth it, the cable is fast and durable and they even include a USB C to micro USB adapter which makes it even more useful I think.

There’s not much else to say about, it’s a USB cable, and it works well, I’m happy with it.

Pros:
+Well made cable
+Fast transfers
+Included USB C to micro USB adapter

Cons:
-None
