Review of Meze 11 Classics Earphones

Conclusion

The Meze 11 Classics are a great example of what can happen when you combine technology and nature, in this case you get a great sounding pair of headphones of course.

The 11 Classics are not bass heavy, but there is a decent amount of bass. If you like an over emphasis on bass then these headphones aren’t for you.

The highs in the music are noticeable but they aren’t as crisp as I would like, but I like a lot in my music.

The earphones are extremely lightweight making them absolutely comfortable to wear for long periods of time. After a while I didn’t even notice they were in my ears.

The 11 Classis are wood so the overall sound is softer than you might expect. If you’re accustomed to plastic headphones, as most people are, the sound these will come as a change for you. The sound produced from a wooden housing is very different and unique and certainly nothing like plastic can give you.

Overall the sound is very good, it’s very full and clear and just very good .

The included microphone is a nice addition but some people will miss having controls in-line.

The split in the wood of the left earphone is unfortunate yes, but it’s wood so these things can happen. I’ve never actually heard of this happing before and I do own other wood headphones and I’ve never seen this before but I have seen it in other wood products. So of course it’s not a good thing, it’s not entirely unexpected either and I don’t blame Meze for it. I’ve done a lot of woodworking in my life and it’s just how it is, it happens.
