Let’s start out with a video unboxing and then move on:
The lamp ships to you in a plastic bag and inside you’ll find the lamp, micro USB cable for charging, user guide and a USB AC wall adapter.
The Boyon logo is on the front of the base of the lamp and below it is a circular indentation which is the touch sensor. The sensor works by touching it to turn it on and off, but to adjust the brightness you need to hold your finger in place and the lamp will get dimmer or brighter. The lamp also remembers what brightness setting you last used when you turn it off and back on again.
The micro USB port is located on the back of the lamp for charging and there’s a single small white LED there to let you know it’s charging which goes off when it’s complete. You can charge the lamp via your computer or the included AC adapter.
On the bottom of the lamp are four rubber feet to make sure it stays where you put it.
The head of the lamp is circular sort of like a donut with a hole in the middle, this is where the LEDs are in a circular pattern. There are 16 LEDs in the lamp to provide the light in varying brightness.
The neck of the lamp is flexible but stays where you put it, you can position it wherever you need light and it will stay there for as long as you need it to. You can twist and turn it and even have the light facing up if you wanted to.
The Boyon Eye Care Lamp seems very well made overall, the base is heavy enough that it won’t fall over easily no matter where you bend the neck to.
The LEDs are bright enough to read by comfortably and you could even use it as a desk lamp for a small desk.
It charges over USB so you can take it with you easily, and it uses just a standard micro USB cable which is a nice feature in itself.
There are numerous levels of brightness which you can cycle through by just touching the lamp, and it will remember what your last brightness setting was when you turn it back on.
I like this little lamp myself, it’s handy, I’ve used it for many things like reading, at my desk at night, or even just for light while doing some work inside of my computer. The light is small and portable and it’s rechargeable so you won’t need to keep it plugged in. It’s not a bad little lamp in my opinion.
