I like camping, hiking and outdoors related things and I also like products that could possibly be used in an emergency or power outage, multiple use things are very valuable in my opinion. Today for review I have a USB rechargeable LED light from a company called FuKang, the light is only 120 lumens but it’s fine for what it is and what it needs to do. Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:
The FuKang light comes packaged well in a brown box with really no information on it except a picture of the contents. Once you get everything unpacked you’ll find the bulb itself wrapped in bubble wrap for protection, the user guide, solar panel with clear protective covering over it, and the solar panel mount.
The solar panel is actually rather small making it nice and portable for you to take with you camping or hiking or just in your bag. The panel is just over 4.5 inches long or wide and not quite 3 inches tall and it’s about .25 inches thick at the thickest point where the mounting bracket is. The power cable ends in a micro USB connector and it’s about 127 inches long so it should reach most anywhere you need it to surely.
The solar panel comes with a dual mounting option. It can be mounted permanently with screws or it can be stuck in the ground with the included spike attachment that’s included. The solar panel just slides onto the mount and it can be tilted and locked into place.
The light is shaped like a flashlight really with a wide head but it does look like a lightbulb as well. On the back end is a metal hook so you can hang the bulb and the hook can be easily removed if need be. The front has a semi-clear cover over it and under it you’ll find 13 LEDs that produce the light. The light is 4.75 inches long without the hook and it’s made of plastic but it does feel well made and durable.
On the end is a small black button which is the main power switch and it just clicks in for on and off, below it is a micro USB connection for charging. The light is rechargeable via USB with the solar panel or like how you would charge any other USB type device.
The light isn’t very bright, it’s only 120 lumens but it’s not meant to be very bright, it’s not a flashlight, it’s meant to hang in your tent to provide light or light in an emergency in your home. So I think it does provide more than enough light to illuminate your tent or other area as needed or for emergency uses.
The FuKange solar LED lightbulb is a unique little product, one that I find quite useful even if it’s not for camping and hiking, it’s just great to have around. I have it hanging near my desk and turn it on if I need a little extra light when doing something.
I like that the light is USB rechargeable so I won’t be wasting batteries, but it’s also nice to have the option of solar charging.
The solar panel has dual mounting options and it’s weatherproof so it can be left outside and be safe. It has a standard micro USB connection on it so you could also use it to charge other devices as well.
All in all I like this product,. so far I’ve found nothing wrong with it.
+Solar panel can be used for other devices
