The Review

Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:

The packaging for the Gear Ultimate French press is nice looking, the box has pictures and info and on the side is directions for brewing your coffee. Inside of the box the press itself is wrapped in bubble wrap for protection during shipping and it arrived to me just fine.

Once you get things unpacked you’ll find the press and an extra screen, inside of the press is a black plastic measuring spoon and also included but not pictured is a basic user guide with coffee and tea brewing instructions and even a recipe.

The carafe of the press is made of Borosilicate glass and it comes out of the metal frame. I like that is comes out of the frame, it makes it a lot easier to clean. The frame itself is nice looking, it’s made of metal and for what it is it’s fine. The press holds 34 ounces of coffee or tea which should be enough for one or two people to have their morning coffee.

The plunger section of the press is plastic and metal and it easily comes apart for cleaning.

For testing I made my morning coffee with the press and it came out just as good as my other press. I’m happy to report I found no grounds in my coffee which to me, is the true test of a French press, besides how it works and the flavor. The press is glass so you can see your coffee through it which I like, and it makes for a nice presentation.

The Gear Ultimate French press is fine, no complaints from me, good coffee with no grounds in it. The press looks very nice and it easily comes apart for cleaning.

The price is fine at $25 which puts it about the average price of others I found on Amazon, yes you can get more expensive one and less expensive ones, but about about $25 seems to be the average for a decent quality press which this one is.

They do include an eBook of 30 different coffee recipes which is nice, but personally I like just my regular coffee but I may eventually try one and it’s nice to have something different for guests and special occasions.
