Conclusion
The MobileLite Wireless G2 is a terrific device especially at its price point. It is available in the mid $50 range at Amazon and for that price it offers a slew of handy features. As a spare battery it is pretty great as it can recharge two iPhone 5(S) models off a single full charge. The wireless stream makes the MobileLite Wireless G2 ideal for road trips with family or friends as several different devices can view media remotely at the same time,
The Bridge Mode keeps Internet access available even when connected to the MobileLite Wireless G2. There is a performance hit in this mode so for full speed try connecting to an Ethernet connection. Of course this is not always available especially on road trips.
While the new version is definitely bulkier than its predecessor, the features and functionality of the MobileLite Wireless G2 make it a worthwhile investment. The only caveat I have is that there are no instructions or links to how to use the device in the current packaging. Hopefully Kingston will correct this oversight as the non-techie user might have trouble using the MobileLite Wireless G2 without these instructions.
Pros:
+4640 mA Battery provides plenty of power
+Portable
+Provides hotspot when connected to Ethernet port
+Expandable storage capacity
+Works as a SD card reader
Cons:
-Instructions not included
-iOS app loses devices off HomeScreen page
