Review of Hippih 10" Extra-Large Digital Calendar Day Clock

hipclock3
It’
s another clock for review today but this one is a large one and it’s more of a wall clock but you could put it on your desk. The clock displays the time of course but also day, date and year and it even has a temperature so you know how hot or cold your home or office is. So far the clock and thermometer seem accurate, I’ve had this over two weeks now and the time is still correct and I compared the thermometer to another one I have and they’re basically the same. The clock has nice large digits on it so you can see it from across the room and it does even have an alarm you can set so you won’t be late for an appointment. Overall the clock is nicely mad it looks good really. Read on to learn more…

Specifications and Features

The clock is black and silver in color on the front and it should look fine in the home or office. It’s made of plastic of course but it does seem well made with a nice finish and no sharp edges around the seems. Overall the clock is about 9.5 inches wide and about 6.5 inches tall and about 1 inch thick. The actual display is smaller at about 6.5 x 3.75 inches and it has sections below the main clock display for time, date, month, year, abbreviated day and the room temperature. The clock digits are nice and large at slightly more than 2 inches tall so you can easily see them from across a room. The display has black lettering/digits with a grayish background. Viewing angles are decent, there’s only a distortion when viewing at an extreme angle from below.

On the back of the clock you’ll find the control panel for setting the clock and alarm. There are six buttons labeled Mode, Set, Up, Down, C/F and Alarm for changing the settings and it’s nice to see both up and down buttons there as it makes setting the time etc much easier so if you pass the number you can just press the down button instead of having to cycle through all the numbers again.

Below the control panel is the battery compartment where you’ll need to put two AA batteries to power the clock, they are not included. Not sure how long the batteries are supposed to last as it’s not mentioned in the specs.

Above the control panel you’ll see two holes for mounting the clock on the wall but there’s also a built-in stand so you could just put the clock on your desk or wherever.

The clock does have an alarm feature which can be handy but if I was planning on using the alarm I certainly wouldn’t want to mount the clock on the wall as that could be a hassle setting the alarm and turning it off. The alarm is the progressive style with single beeps, and then double beeps, then triple beeps and then solid straight beeping. The alarm isn’t very loud but it’s loud enough to get your attention and I think it would wake me up.

Conclusion

I’ve had this clock for a little over two weeks now, 16 days actually, and I set the time as soon as it arrived and the time is still correct. I set it to the same as my computer and it still shows the same time so it seems accurate to me so far.

Having the time be accurate is of course important but this clock also has a temperature display on it and to me that needs to be accurate as well or it’s rather worthless. I compared it to my other thermometer I have that I know is accurate and the one on the clock is very close. My thermometer read 74.5F while the clock read 74.7F which is close enough for me to call accurate. I’m not exactly sure where the temperature sensor is on the clock so I couldn’t put my thermometers sensor next to it but I put it next to the clock and that’s the result I got which seems fine to me.

The clock is nice and large, you can easily see the display from across the room as the digits are big and it does seem well made for what it is and what it costs really. I like having everything right there for me on the display, the time date and temperature is nice to have all in one place for sure.

The clock does offer two options, you can mount it on the wall or use the built-in stand and put it on your desk and it will look good in the home or in your office surely.

So far I can’t find anything wrong with this clock, for the price it’s a decent product with an accurate clock and thermometer, what more could you ask for really?!

Pros:
+Seems well made
+Accurate time keeping
+Accurate thermometer

Cons:
-None so far
